The Budget: Fiscal Year 1997-1998

GENERAL SERVICES

      General Government Operations has received a $1.183 million or a 2.27% increase to cover normal program costs. This appropriation is expected to lose six positions as a result of the elimination of the commodity testing laboratory.

      Capitol Police Operations has increased by $259,000. Grants for Capitol Fire Protection have increased by $56,000 or 8.07% All other appropriations have remained constant or received normal program increases.

      The budget contains a new $9.6 million appropriation for the Capitol Annex Restoration.
